Never compromise
Gruber linked today to a list of ill thought domain names. I thought of Heather McHugh’s poem “And What Do You Get” which should be standard reading for URL seekers, at least as a mental exercise. She ends with the lines:
Take the the from
therapist, split accent with an id—
It also brings to mind a recent Qwest advertisement, where they wanted to make a promise to you. They even conveniently put the promise on their website, at qwest.com/promise, which is one razor thin slash away from a very different meaning than the one they intended.
